Dalgona Coffee is all over social media, thanks to a group of people who wanted to challenge other stay at home folks to be creative with their coffee.
It sounds fancy but it’s basically whipped coffee in cold milk. The recipe calls for 2 TBSP each of: instant coffee, sugar and hot water which I thought was too strong and sweet so I made a modified version.
My Dalgona Coffee Recipe:
1 1/2 TBSP instant coffee dissolved in 2 TBSP hot water
2 TSP raw sugar
1/2 cup whole milk – I’ve seen some use 2% cows milk, almond or soy milk.
Combine the dissolved coffee and sugar then whisk it for about 3 – 5 mins. The goal is to have a light brown, creamy texture with medium peaks – if that makes sense.
Next, use a fancy clear glass like tbis one from Bodum. and get some ice cubes. Pour the milk and top with the creamy and rich coffee.
Then, take a photo using your iPhone or Android and share it across social media. Finally, stir it and enjoy. Yum!
