Wearable Art

| Polymer Art, Polymer Clay Earrings

It’s August 1st 2020 and it’s been several months since we’ve been dealing with the COVID-19 situation (March 2020 for us). I think people (that includes me!) are having a lot of anxiety and feelings of uncertainty. I guess it’s a normal reaction to such life altering events and stress. I don’t intend to be ‘preaching’ here but FAITH IN GOD and surrendering our life and ACCEPTING JESUS CHRIST as our Lord and Savior is the only way that can bring us PEACE that passes all understanding.

Our daily routines have changed – working from home (or not having a job), having to wear masks wherever we go, online shopping, meal delivery and take out and so on. My weekly trips to the craft and art stores have also been cut down significantly. That i think was a positive thing for me because it allowed me to organize my craft “stuffs” and get reacquainted with some of my ‘pre-loved’ interest such as Polymer Clay.

I love working with polymer clay because every design is uniquely handmade with care. The combination of different colors are rolled to form a log and are individually sliced to reveal a truly one-of-a-kind (ooak) design. Then, I cut them into assorted shapes and sizes.

In the pair of earrings above, I used the colorful square shape and added a plain, textured terracotta piece. I like how it turned out. What do you think?

I plan to make more pieces and have other designs that I can sell in my Etsy shop. Stay tuned for that!

Thanks for stopping by the blog. See you again soon!

Take care,

Michelle
