Weekend at IKEA

It was a rainy, cold and dreary weekend where we are but it didn’t stop us from visiting one of our happy places:  IKEA!  It’s been 2-and-a-half years since we’ve been there and we were excited!   The way places like this are decorated makes you want to linger which is the whole point, right?  The photo above shows what will welcome you when you go past the huge revolving doors.  Oooooo… the shades of blue and white makes me think of being in the beach somewhere remote.

This dining room reminds me of chicken soup dinners, loads of laughter and long nights of board and card games such as apples to apples.  Warm and cozy.

This is a fun study / office / bedroom that makes use of the space very well.  I love the display shelves – it makes everything accessible.  The white drawer with multiple shelves would be perfect for my stamps, punches and ink pads.31 - CopyThis bedroom is part of a studio with a small living room, dining and bathroom.  It’s small but it’s very functional.  Look at how comfortable that bed is!

33This dining area is screaming a hearty breakfast of pancakes, sausage, biscuits and freshly squeezed orange juice.

32 - CopyThe patio garden looks so dreamy with the hanging lights.  Perfect for stargazing.  It’s somewhere I would love to hang-out after a busy day at the office.

A visit to IKEA is not complete without having to try the Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy and lingonberry jam.  Soooo good.  I tried their lingonberry drink this time and it was good too.  Have you every been to IKEA?  Try my food suggestions next time you’re there and let me know how you liked it.

We bought a cabinet unit for our cute apartment that will store most of my baking stuff and small appliances that we don’t often use.  I will share that with you next time as my first DIY project for the year.

Have a wonderful week!

I also love going to Ikea! Even if I am not buying anything haha. Sometimes, my husband and I would visit ikea just because I want to feel better by looking at the furniture and interior design and just so he can eat the Swedish meatballs with lingonberry jam. It’s really a happy place 🙂
